FAQ
Q: Is GEAR CHECK available?
A: Yes, you can check your gear at the start(s) and you can pick it up at the finish.
Q: What is the temperature at the start and finish?
A: You can expect mid 60s at the start and finish and high 80s to low 90s between mile 5 and 15.
Q: What time does the race start?
A: Both events (marathon and half) will start at 6:30 AM.
Q: Why no headphones?
A: The course is on a narrow mountain road and rock falls are a problem. You can't really see a fall coming, so you'll have to rely on your ears and your fellow runners around you. It's a very difficult course, especially with the warm weather, and the emergency crews have to be able to do their job - we don't want to see an ambulance stuck behind a runner with headphones.
Q: I registered for the marathon but I want to run the half. Can I switch events?
A: Yes, but please let us know before the start. No event day changes.
Q: Can I download a paper application form?
A: No, online registration is the only option.
Q: Where are the water-stops and what do you have at each stop?
A: Aid-stations are placed every 2.5 to 3.5 miles on the course. Water, Cytomax, food (last 3), medical teams, ambulances and toilets will be available.
Q: What is the Pilot Car?
A: It's an Official Vehicle leading traffic up and down the mountain. You have to wait for it and stay behind it or you'll be ticketed.
